Authorised Purpose

We Care Community Trust may make grants for any charitable or non-commercial purpose that is beneficial to the whole or a section of the community.

Before you apply

Please read through the funding categories below carefully before submitting your application. Applications that do not fit within the Authorised Purpose or are incomplete will be returned.

Priority Funding Areas

Priority funding is given to amateur sport, supporting youth, supporting the elderly members of our community, public health, and non-profit community cultural and arts festivals. Applications in these areas are given preference by the Trust's board.

Amateur Sport

  • Promotion of health via amateur sport including cricket and kabaddi
  • Amateur teams training costs
  • Playing and training uniforms retained by the club or team
  • Reasonable travel expenses including accommodation and insurance

Youth Development

  • Development of the character of young people
  • Supporting training and education in primary and secondary schools
  • Non-profit childcare and education services for young children
  • Scholarships and prizes for academic achievement

Health and Welfare

  • Welfare assistance for people in need including funeral expenses and hospitalisation
  • Hospital visits for the elderly
  • Public health services including education and counselling
  • Health aids and convalescence support

Arts and Culture

  • Non-profit events that celebrate or involve different cultures
  • Community cultural and arts festivals including music festivals
  • Celebrating religious services in public
  • Organisations that promote community cultural education and cohesion

Community Support

  • Wages and salaries for roles in entirely non-commercial community organisations
  • Vehicles for non-commercial community or charitable purposes
  • Grounds and buildings for churches, temples or religious organisations
  • Public works and services such as car parks, footpaths and cycleways

New Immigrants

  • Advice, support and assistance for recent immigrants to New Zealand
  • Counselling and health information services
  • Mediation for family conflicts and visitation support
  • Creating social networks and providing family care support

If your organisation fits within one of the categories above, we encourage you to apply. Applications close on the 10th of each month with decisions made on the last Sunday of each month.
